Do you have an old bike just hanging around your garage?  Please consider donating it to Redemptive Cycles!

Redemptive Cycles accepts donations of new and used bicycles, bicycle parts and bicycle gear in any condition. These donations enable us to serve the local Birmingham community both through our Earn-A-Bike program and by raising funds through our Retail Shop for our other programs including the public work station, and classes. All donations can be made at our Bike Shop at 1305 2nd Ave N #101, Birmingham, AL 35203 during our business hours.  We cannot pick up individual bikes, but if you have ten or more bikes at one location we may be able to collect them.  Call (205) 224-5631 to inquire.

OUR PROCESS

All donated bikes go to one of four places:

  1. Fixed by our mechanics and sold in our retail shop.  This is our primary source of funding for all our programs and offers the community a low-cost option for a new bike.
  2. Into our Earn-A-Bike program, where those in need can earn a bicycle by giving 8 hours of service to the community, and 4 hours with our shop.
  3. To children as a part of our Bikes For Kids Initiative, where kids ages 3-13 receive a FREE bike, fixed up by our volunteers.
  4. If the poor bike is in completely unusable condition we strip every working piece off and recycle the rest!

We accept new and used bicycles in any condition.

We accept all kinds of bicycle parts and bicycle gear such as bells, baskets, bike flags, locks, trailers and bike clothes.

Redemptive Cycles is a Non Profit 501(c)(3 .  A donation receipt is provided.
